Junior Staff

The Undergraduate Student Government (USG) junior staff program is a year-long immersive program for individuals interested in student advocacy. The program will offer opportunities for junior staff to learn about the USG organizational structure and to work 1:1 with USG staff members and teams. During your application, you'll have the opportunity to select roles within the team that aligns best with your interests, including Communications, Government and Legislative Affairs, Chief of Staff, Finance, Executive Affairs, and the Representatives to the Board of Regents. The program is designed so that junior staff can one day move up within the organization if they desire, and take on staff roles.

Available Junior Staff Positions: 

  • Chief of Staff (2 positions):  Presidential Associate & Vice Presidential Associate

  • Communications Team (3 positions): Events Coordinator, Photo & Video Coordinator, & Social Media Coordinator

  • Government and Legislative Team (4 positions): Local Affairs Coordinator, Federal Affairs Coordinator, State Affairs Coordinator, Civic Engagement Coordinator

  • Finance Team (1 position): Finance Coordinator 

  • Executive Affairs Team (2 positions): Executive Relations Coordinator & Executive Research Coordinator 

  • Representatives to the Board of Regents (1 position): R2R Coordinator

General Requirements:

Junior staff requirements vary for each role, however all roles will be required to commit 4-6 hours per week towards their responsibilities, as assigned by their team lead. Junior Staff are also required to attend Forum meetings every Tuesday from 5:50-6:50pm.
