Coterminous Forum Elections

Coterminous Forum is the final forum session of the school year in which elections are held for next year’s Forum Board, At-Large Representatives, and Committee Directors. Coterminous will take place on Tuesday, April 25th, 4-6 PM at Moos Tower Room 2-690. Read below to view descriptions of each elected position.

  • -The Speaker of Forum is responsible for running biweekly Forum meetings, where USG resolutions are voted on by student leaders. The Speaker ensures proper communication about Forum procedure, including setting agendas and keeping Forum on track. They also lead Forum Board, who members represent every type of voting member in Forum.

    -The Ranking At-Large Representative (RALR) oversees every other ALR in the organization. They act as a point of contact between ALR's and other USG staff, and are also responsible for holding ALR's accountable.

    -The Ranking Voting Member (RVM) represents Student Group Representatives (SGRs) in USG. It is their responsibility to engage with student groups to help them get represented in USG matters. They also act as a point of contact for SGR's within the greater USG organization. All Forum Board members are also members of the USG Executive Board

    -The Representative to the Student Senate Consultative Committee (Rep to the SSCC) is the middleman between the Student Senate and USG. They act as a liaison between organizations, and also oversee the Student Senators elected by each college.

  • -The Academic Affairs Committee Director pursues advocacy relating to academia. They work on projects such as core curriculum review, absence policies, and test-optional admissions.

    -The Diversity & Inclusion Committee Director advocates for a diverse and equitable campus. They lead a team in pursuing advocacy such as inclusive holiday recognition and accommodations, resources for underrepresented students, and showcasing cultural groups with a cultural showcase

    -The Environmental Accountability Committee Director leads a team of students to pursue environmental advocacy. They work with exterior groups such as the Office of Sustainability and different student groups to push advocacy such as divestment while also hosting clothing swaps and other events.

    -The Infrastructure Committee Director spearheads all infrastructure-related initiatives on campus. They frequently meet with PTS and work on projects such as Gopher Way accessibility and public transportation.

    -The Student Life & Wellness Committee Director pursues advocacy that promotes student wellbeing on campus. They work on initiatives regarding dorm food accessibility, UCARD crisis numbers, and often host events to promote student wellbeing.

  • At-Large Representatives, also known as ALRs, represent all students campus-wide. Anyone can run to become an ALR! This is a great opportunity for students to get involved in student government!

    At-Large Representatives serve on Committees and Forum by collaborating with and consulting University members and collecting data to create resolutions with their respective team

    Elections for ALRs are held at Forum whenever there are seat vacancies!
