About Representatives to the Board of Regents

The goal of the Representatives to the Board of Regents Team (R2Rs) is to be effective liaisons between USG and the Board of Regents, the University of Minnesota system’s highest governing body. They ensure that the Board of Regents has an accurate representation of student experiences and concerns, in addition to making sure that USG understands what issues the Board is concerned about. Since the Board of Regents helps decide the general direction of the University, the R2R team gives input on future projects, policy changes, and goals the Board is considering, while keeping USG updated throughout the process and facilitating student feedback. They also work with R2R’s from satellite campuses and from graduate and professional student governments to highlight to the Board what the unique needs of each campus or group are, but also what they all have in common.
